Disney - Part 1

We went back to Disney World April 21 - 28.  We had so much fun last year we just had to do it again.  It's one of those trips that feels like a true vacation.  Our flight left at 6:30 am which meant we had to leave for the airport at 5 am.  I don't think my kids have ever been up that early before (though I know Wally has!!).  They didn't mind.  We were all so excited.

At the airport ready to board the plane:

We flew through Chicago and then on to Orlando.  We had some poops on our flight but I'm not going to get into that because I don't want my blood pressure to rise right now.  Anyway, we gathered our luggage and got on the Magical Express, which is the bus that picks you up at the airport and takes you directly to your hotel.  We call it the Mickey Mouse Bus.  Here are Jason and Ruby, ready for the ride:

We stayed at the Pop Century Resort.  It is one of Disney's "value" resorts.  It was fine, but we should not have stayed in a fancy hotel first (last year ) and then a not-so-fancy hotel the second time around.  It was hard not to compare....anyway, it was totally fine.  When we got off the Mickey Mouse bus the staff there welcomed us with a massive explosion of bubbles.  The kids are chasing them here.  Fun!

We got stuff situated in our room and then headed over to the food court for dinner.  We bought the Dining Plan this year.  This means all four of us each get a counter-service meal, a snack, and a table-service meal per day (and both meals come with your choice of dessert).  Can you say PIG OUT??  We enjoy food so it was fun for us to try new things and eat our way across the parks.  Anyway, our first dinner there:

We got an apple pastry with ice cream for one of the desserts and Ruby couldn't stopping saying "MMMMMM" over it.  She eats passionately.

We hit the pool for a little bit before bed.  The pool near our room was shaped like a bowling pin (I"ll have more hotel pictures later).  Here is my boy all ready to go!  You can't see it but his goggles are pink.  Oh dear.

We got to bed at a decent hour but understandably the kids had trouble going to sleep.  They were so excited, plus 8 pm Orlando is only 6 pm at home...not tired yet!  I had trouble sleeping due to the noisiness of the hotel (I got earplugs the next day and that saved me for the rest of the trip!).  Karie got in late that night and her room was right next to ours, so the next day we were able to open the door between them and double our space, and then Reder got to sleep in the other bed in Karie's room, Ruby got her own bed (good for all, she is a super wiggle room).
