Made it to Iowa

We made it!

It all went pretty well, but nearly didn't. Our flight to Minneapolis was delayed by half an hour, and we had a short layover, so we ended up running from gate F10 to A1 - opposite ends of MSP. And we barely made it - they closed the door behind us and they were moving the jetway before we got to our seats. Reder was quite the trooper - running through the airport. Meanwhile Katie had Ruby in the carrier and pulled a rolling carry-on, and I had the backpack and Reder's car-seat. But we made it!

The first flight was full, and Ruby was squirmy, so eventually we put Ruby in Reder's car seat and Reder sat on our laps. That worked much better. The second flight was pretty empty, so Ruby got her own seat.

We experienced a "luggage irregularity" in airline terms. I actually would have been surprised if our checked bag had made the connection in MSP. But it got delivered to Wally's house in the evening. Jill and Wally picked us up at the airport, and picked up Joel on the way home. It was a beautiful day, and is supposed to be nice today too. We are planning to ride the bus to downtown Iowa City and see Wally's school and the play things in the pedestrian zone.
