Karie and my dad got home from visiting my aunt, uncle, and grandma in Texas today. Reder went to the airport with Gramma Janet to pick them up, then they all came back here for a bit. Karie got the kids 'coon skin hats. These were not okay at first - I think they were scared of them! They warmed up to the idea after everyone left, obviously, and played with them the rest of the afternoon:
Karie sent Jason a Texas buttermilk pie for his birthday, and it came in the mail today. We all know Reder loves pie, so we thought he would be pretty excited once we opened the box. Unfortunately our camera ran out of room during the second video I shot of the unveiling of the pie, but here is a video of Jason trying to get him to read the words on the box that describe what is inside (yes, the lighting is terrible, but that's just how it is). Go figure, but Reder did not like this pie. Actually I'm not terribly surprised, b/c this one was like custard, and Reder prefers fruit pies. Oh well, more for Jason! He liked it! PS: What is Piratti??
