Spring Break at Reder Ranch

Now that Reder has pre-school, spring break has meaning again! We used the occasion as an excuse to take a trip to South Dakota to visit my parents. Jill and Joel and Wally met us there.

The first day we went to the dinosaur park. The triceratops is still Reder's favorite, but the stegosaurus was the most fun to climb on:

We enjoyed the warm weather by spending time outside at the ranch.

Sunday Jill and Joel headed to Broadus. While they were gone, we went to Custer State park to look for the donkeys. Unfortunately we failed in our quest, but we did find a nice playground. And we got a good dinner at the Chute Rooster in Hill City.
Monday we introduced Reder to geocaching. I hid some toys for him to find. He liked "treasure hunting," but he needs a better understanding of distance before he will be more successful in his hunts.
Riding in the wagon with his sister was lots of fun too:
And grandma helped Ruby find pine-cones:
Tuesday we decorated "Easter Cookies." Reder and Wally decorated, Ruby ate frosting.

ATV rides were also very popular:
But the best part was getting together with family. Reder and Wally had a great time together:

All three enjoyed goofing off:
And we got to spend time with Jill and Joel.
I'm ending with this picture, since I think it is so funny. It was bath-time, and the kids were hiding in my parent's closet. This is what we found when we pulled back the clothes:
