Reder is 3!

So Reder's birthday was a couple of days ago, but his party isn't until Saturday.  He had a difficult time understanding that his birthday was a special day - "What is birthday if my friends are not here?"  But we tried to make him understand that it was special.  We started by letting him open some presents.  Reder loves opening presents (as do all kids I'm sure.)

Grandma Mary and Papa Randy gave Reder a play-sink, that pumps water through the faucet and has  bunch of water toys:
This picture of Ruby is from today - she enjoys Reder's sink too, and Reder is happy to play with his trains while she is occupied by the sink - she makes a mess of Reder's train track when he is trying to play with them.  Today he said that "Ruby monstered my trains!"  She spent a lot of the day today playing with the sink - note that she is standing up - she now pulls herself up to her feet and spends a lot of time standing.

Katie also moved the recliner out of his room and put her old desk in its place.  Reder thinks it is great to have a desk in his room to "do art."

For dinner Katie made him a dinner that was new to him but we knew he would love - pig in a blanket (he called them "hot dog in blanket".)

Ruby enjoyed the beans:
And Deb baked coconut cream cupcakes, which three worked out great - three candles to blow out, three cakes for the three of us (Ruby was done eating).  Thanks Deb!

Today Reder went to the doctor for his 3-yr checkup.  Everything was great.  He is 75th percentile in both height and weight, at 28.5" and 35lb.  We are so happy with how he is doing too - growing  out of his allergies, eczema clearing up, and just a happy, good boy.  Happy Birthday!
