Sweet Pea Week

The Sweet Pea Festival of the Arts is always kind of a big deal in Bozeman. It's the first full weekend in August, and pretty much lasts all week. On Wednesday it is The Bite of Bozeman, which means downtown Main Street is closed, and filled with food vendors and tons of people. We went...kids had pizza and Jason and I had Thai food. Reder thought it was pretty special to walk in the middle of the road, and eat dinner on the sidewalk.

We went to the Sweet Pea Parade on Saturday morning with Gramma and Papa. Parades are great, especially with little kids. They got so much candy......I think we're still working on it. I might just throw it away at this point. My only complaint about this parade is the lack of bands....are there no such thing as marching bands anymore? Shameful.

The Sweet Pea festival itself is held in Lindley Park, downtown. There are lots of things to do, including a workshop area for little kids. They supply wood scraps, hammers, nails, and paint, and kids can make whatever they want. Reder made a really cool chair, with Daddy's help of course. Jason is such an engineer. He got more comments on this chair while we were lugging it around.....

All in all a very fun day!
