Disney World, Day 3

Since the last two days had been too busy for naps, today we decided we were on borrowed time with Ruby so had better come back to the hotel for an afternoon nap. So, we split the day in two...morning at Animal Kingdom, and afternoon at Epcot.

We got up and ate breakfast in our room. We decided to bring a suitcase of food with us, figuring it was cheaper to check a bag than it was to go out for breakfast and pay Disney prices for 6 days. We were right! Plus eating weird stuff for breakfast does not make my tummy happy anyway. Here are the kids enjoying some PB&J:

Ruby enjoying the savanna in her jammies:

First stop : Animal Kingdom. We did not get too many pictures here. Not sure why. We rode some Flying Dinos (like Dumbo), went on a safari ride, and took the train to the petting zoo. At this zoo you are not allowed to feed the animals, but you can brush them:

Then we walked around a little building with snakes, spiders, etc, and decided that Reptile Gardens in Rapid City is much better. The kids weren't too impressed. How Reder stacks up to a tiger:

Riding the cool train back to the main park. Reder looks tired:
We stopped for lunch at a place there, before heading back to the hotel. Ruby ate more than me, and that's saying something. A huge turkey sandwich, all of her carrots, and more than half of a chocolate milkshake. Guess she was hungry!

She took a good nap, then we were ready for Epcot. Here are the kids watching cartoons in the hotel lobby as we were ready to head out:

Epcot was awesome. The kids thoroughly enjoyed it, which wasn't what I was expecting. The rides are more mellow, and there were no lines. I think their favorite was a slow-moving boat ride that went through a really cool green house. Maybe my kids are nerds. Anyway, we were nearing a melt-down with both of them, so we thought we ought to find food, FAST! We walked to Germany but didn't want an all you can eat buffet of bratwurst. So we ended up in Mexico (and it was Cinco de Mayo, and we had forgotten!), with a really cool table overlooking Mayan "ruins" (Jason says we got the table due to his best luck).
A really cool Lightning McQueen thing out of plants:
Ruby got a Baby Tinkerbell as a souvenir. Needless to say, it's very popular - everything is either a baby or a mommy to Ruby these days.
Oh, and one funny thing. Twice Reder ran into our sliding glass door in our hotel room because he didn't see it was closed - one really hard. I hate to say it but we laughed pretty hard. This is not new to him - he's done it many times at the mall. Guess it was some clean glass!
