After leaving the Reder Ranch, we drove to Niwot, Colorado to stay with G.G. (Great Grandma) and Pops. We kept busy, but also made sure that we had plenty of time for Reder and Ruby to play with G.G and Pops:
Also while there, we made a quick trip up to our old cabin above Lyons. We hiked out to pothole rock and had a snack out on the rock. None of these pictures show the amazing views from there. Reder loved climbing around on the rocks, and so did Ruby - she was giddy with excitement. Funny, but challenging to keep them safe.
So here is a flash-back photo from June, 2006 when Reder was a VERY large 2-month old:

And here is a photo of him in the same spot now:

And Ruby trying to re-create Reder's unhappy pose:

While heading out we happened to notice something disturbing: Many of the trees have been hit by pine beetles, meaning that they are probably already dead - and will be red next year. You can tell the pine-beetles by the pop-corn looking sap that comes out of the holes they bore. Sad:

We also took a quick day-trip to see Chris and Kelly in Castle Rock. They have a very nice house in a great area. Castle Rock is definitely a nice place to live. We went out to lunch with them and Ruby and Briar had a great time sharing their lunches:

In addition, Reder and Ruby had lots of playing time with their second-cousins, Tanner and Kaitlynn. Kaitlynn comes to G.G. and Pop's house everyday for lunch - as they are just a few blocks from the high school. Reder had a great time playing with her everyday. And Friday evening Kaitlynn and Tanner took Reder to the playground at Niwot Elementary School, where he had a great time with them. They brought our camera with them and took lots of great photos, so I'm wrapping up this post with a bunch of their photos.

Great pictures. I love the Texas sweatshirt on Reder.
