Gramma and Papa Randy came to visit for the long Labor Day weekend. They got here Friday and left today, and we all kept busy for the time they were here.
We kicked it off Saturday by driving up Pine Creek in the Paradise Valley to meet Gramma Janet and Papa Rob for a picnic.

Ruby had a great time hiking:

After the picnic we hiked up to the waterfall:

Then we went over to Rob and Janet's house where Ruby napped and Reder tried to nap. Dad and I helped Rob with the puzzle of replacing the serpentine belt on his truck. We were successful!
Sunday morning and went for a quick hike to the Langhor creek side trail again for Reder to drive his motorcycle and for them to throw rocks in the river. Then Sunday afternoon we took on a project - Dad and I installed a tubular skylight into Reder and Ruby's bathroom. It was easy to install and adds a ton of natural light to that otherwise dark bathroom.
Monday morning (Labor Day) we went to the Museum (of the Rockies). It was the last day of their "living history farm." We had a great time there talking to the historians and looking at everything. Reder was mesmerized by the blacksmith, so the blacksmith gave Reder the fancy hook Reder watched him make. The gardens are amazing, and it was hard to get Reder away from the strawberry patch. We also made a quick loop through the museum, but it was getting to be lunch/nap time. After naps, with questionable weather, we headed to the fish hatchery. Reder and I had been there last weekend (see previous post) and he wanted to show everyone the baby duck. First we hiked some of the Drinking Horse trail. Papa Randy carried Ruby, and I am pretty sure they both had a good time:

Once we got to the fish pond, sure enough, the duck family was still there. It was surprising how much the baby duck grew in a week. Ruby was ready to jump into the pond to get it.

After the "Fish Hike" we struggled to find a restaurant for dinner that was open on Labor day, and ended up at Ted's Montana Grill, and as luck would have it Karie was waiting tables and we were able to be in her section. Teds always has good food, and we had great service!

I guess summer is coming to an end.
